Musical Notation and Time While traditional European music is often delineated by changes of parameters such as key areas and tempo, it is rarely the case that they will be marked by entire shifts in temporal paradigms, which is what Shubho Lhaw Qolo engages in. 1 For example, we see a change from the double bar line in Figures 3a and 3b where the

conductor sequentially cues the entries of the lower string instruments one by one. In this instance, the traditional meter is subtly dissolving.
