Lizzy grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and studied viola with Julie Edwards. She attended Brigham Young University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Viola Performance with a minor in Entrepreneurship. There, Lizzy studied with Dr. Claudine Bigelow and played in masterclasses for renowned violists such as Paul Neubauer and Tabea Zimmerman. After two years in the BYU

instrument repair shop, she moved into a role at the Harold B. Lee Library, where she organized the entire William Primrose collection at the Primrose International Viola Archive. She is now a teacher and freelancer in the northern Utah area while running her new business, Chin & Shoulder.
