I n January of 1992. violist C aba Erdelyi returned to hi native Hun gary for a concert to be broadca t Ihe from the Budape t Opera. "It was a double premiere." says Erdelyi . " I pent ten years restoring Ban6k' viola concerto from hi origi nal manuscript. and thi was its debut. It wa al o the first concerto perfor mance for m) Joseph Curtin 'iola. Both were prai ed highly." C aba Erdelyi established his pre - ence in the music world with another first. In 1972 he became the only' iola p layer ever to win the pre tigious Carl Flesch International iolin Competi tion. He went on to en e a principal of the Philharmonia Orchestra and violi t in the Chilingirian Quartet.
