The Universiry ofWashington campus in Searcle served as the sire for the 30th Inrernacional Viola Congress, June 19-23, 2002. Wonderfully hosred by Helen Callus, this evenr proved robe a rrue viola smorgasbord. Thanks ro congress phorographer Jason Fisher, the following is a visual review of the congress ... Day !-Welcome and Opening Concert Wednesday, June 19, the congress opened with sunny skies and an inrroduccion ro the beauciful campus of the Universiry of Washington. Regisrracion began ar 3 :00 p.m. , followed by a welcome reception on the sreps of the music building. Inrernacional Viola Sociery Presidenr Ronald Schmidr of Germany, American Viola Sociery Presidenr Perer Slowik, and Congress Hosr Helen Callus gave official welcoming remarks ro those gathered.
