was a member of the Philadelphia Composers Forum, the Contemporary Chamber En semble, the Group for Contemporary Music at Columbi a University and the Manharran chool of Music, and the Penn Contemporary Players at the University of Pennsylvania. He was also violist in the Contemporary Quartet and the Silvermine String Quartet. He was on the faculty of Bennington Col lege for many years and also the director of the Chamber Music Conference and Composer's Forum of the East held at Bennington College in Vermont. He appeared widely in the U.S. and overseas and performed as soloist and chamber musician in Germany, the Republic of China, Russia, Yugoslavia, Canada, and Aumalia. His American recitals rook place in Carnegie Recital Hall, the Philadelphia Ethical Culture ociety, the Phillips Gal lery in Wash ington, D.C., the University of Washington, and the Uni versity of Oregon. H e also per formed Hindemith's Der Schwanendreher at Avery Fisher Hall with the Clarion Concerts as well as at many of the inrernational congresses of the Viola d'Amore ociety of America.
He had the credit of having premiered over 200 new works, many of them written for him. In addition to his strong commitment ro contemporary music, he was devoted ro the v iol a d ' amore and had a great interest in music of the 18th century. Over the years, he managed ro perform all the Vivaldi Concen os for viola d'amore as well as all of the Ariosti Lessons for viola d'amo re and basso at inrer national evenrs. Jack Glick was a very special human being and an outstanding musician. Those who had the privilege of working with him knew a kind, witty, generous, and fatherly man who was always there to help our. His musical percep tiveness was extraordinary, and he had the ability ro get right ro the heart of musical marrers with the urmost and convincing inrelligence.
