DAVID DALTON studied at the Vienna Academy, the Munich Hochschule, and took degrees at the Eastman
CLYN BARRUS is a graduate of the Curtis Institute, the Vienna Academy, and the University of Michigan, where
School and Indiana University, where he earned his doctorate in viola under William Primrose. He collabo rated with his teacher in producing the Primrose mem oirs Walk on the North Side and Playing the Viola. He served as president of the American Viola Society.
he earned his doctorate in viola. He was principal of the Vienna Symphony and for thirteen years occupied that same position in the Minnesota Orchestra. He has been heard frequently as a soloist and recording artist, and is now director of orchestras at BYU.
The Primrose International Viola Archive, the largest repository of materials related to the viola, is housed in the Harold B. Lee Library. BYU graduates find them selves in professional orchestras and as teachers at institutes of higher learning. B.M., BA., and M.M. degrees in performance are offered to viola students.
