An outstanding viola by Carlo Antonio Testore, Milan, 1740 Currently in the Bein & Fushi Collection

The outstanding example pictured above was one of the exquisite violas recently exhibited at our shop for the education and pleasure of those attending the International Viola Congress. Among the makers rep resented at this exhibition were Antonio Stradivari (ex Paganini of 1731), the Brothers Amati, Nicolo Bergonzi, Matteo Goffriller, J.B. Guadagnini, Lorenzo Storioni, Joannes Tononi, Gasparo da Salo, C.A. Testore, and Vincenzo Rugeri. Dr. David Dalton wrote of this exhibition, "... to be exposed to that many outstanding examples of superb making was unprecedented in my experience and many others."
