2024 American Viola Society Festival Artists

Kimberly Hankins Dr. Kimberly Hankins is an Arizona-based violist with an active chamber music and orchestral career. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Germany, Luxembourg, and Iceland. With a passion for chamber music, Dr. Hankins has been featured as a Guest Artist and Chamber Music Faculty at Tetra Chamber Music Institute, Vianden Music Festival, and Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra’s ‘Stringmania.’ In January 2023, she was invited to perform in a chamber music recital with Dr. Katherine McLin and Steinway Artist James D’León. Over the years, Emily Hiemstra Emily Hiemstra (b.1991) is a real-life viola mom. She is a violist, composer, and mom to three boys under 5. A JUNO-nominated composer, she has had her music performed at festivals throughout Europe, USA and Canada. Her orchestral and operatic background as a performer has deepened her understanding of color and texture, which she readily applies in her compositions to create clear and innovative works. As a violist and dedicated chamber musician, she has performed at festivals around the world and is founder of the Charis Collective, a chamber ensemble creating family-friendly concerts in

she has worked closely with the members of the Pacifica Quartet, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Juilliard String Quartet, St. Lawrence String Quartet, Brentano String Quartet, and Brooklyn Rider.

Dr. Enchi Anna Ho A native of Taichung, Taiwan, Anna Enchi Ho has performed extensively in her home country as well as in Canada, Brazil and across the United States. Her piano studies began at the age of five, studying privately until 1991. After a year of academic studies at National Chung-Hsin University, Dr. Ho entered the Piano Performance program at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1995. She continued with graduate studies in piano performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (earning a Master of Music degree in 1997), and at Texas Tech University, where she received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Collaborative Piano in 2003.

Kae Hosoda-Ayer The Brazos Ensemble

Dr. Kae Hosoda Ayer is Associate Professor of Piano at Baylor University. She holds degrees in Piano Performance with emphasis in Chamber Music and Collaborative Arts from the University of Texas at Austin; the New England Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music degree from Toho Gakuen School of Music, Tokyo, Japan. She has been on the accompanying faculty at New the Conservatory and has concertized through the United States, Canada, Japan, and Korea where she is in demand both as a soloist and collaborative pianist. Stojan Jovanovic As Thomastik-Infeld’s Product Manager for violin and viola strings, Stojan Jovanovic has closely worked with hundreds of professional musicians, artist/educators, and luthiers worldwide seeking to find the best string technology for their instruments. He received a degree in Violin Studies from Brukner University and a Masters in Music Management from Danube University.
