2024 American Viola Society Festival Artists

Ann Marie Brink American Viola Society Treasurer Ann Marie Brink has performed in solo and chamber music recitals at Carnegie Hall, the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center, Aspen Music Festival, Library of Congress, Severance Hall, Newport Music Festival, Chamber Music Chicago, and the Bravo Vail Valley Music Festival, and has been a featured soloist with the Dallas Symphony. She has coached and performed in residencies for Chamber Music America with the Cavani String Quartet and has twice been a fellow at the Aspen Center for Advanced Quartet Studies. Ms. Brink is Assistant Professor of Viola at

DePaul University School of Music and teaches at Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. She has also taught at Baylor University, Southern Methodist University, University of North Texas, Interlochen Arts Camp, and Wintergreen Academy. Ann Marie received her degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Juilliard School where her primary teachers were Heidi Castleman, and Karen Tuttle. Ms. Brink served as Associate Principal Viola of the Dallas Symphony from 1999-2019. Richard Baxter Brown Richard Baxter Brown spent his formative years as a musician in Kenosha, Wisc. participating in orchestras and chamber ensembles including Midwest Young Artists Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and Midwest Young Artists Conservatory I’Solisti, as well as placing in competitions such as the Racine Symphony Orchestra Young Artists’ Competition, the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory Composition Competition, and the Wheaton College Chamber Music Competition. Baxter received his bachelors in viola performance at Wheaton College under the teaching of Rose Armbrust Griffin and is now pursuing a Master of Music in viola performance at Northern Illinois University under the teaching of Anthony Devroye.

Vinciane Béranger Vinciane Béranger has performed worldwide with the Manfred Quartet and as a chamber musician: Salle Gaveau and Chopin-Pleyel in Paris, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Mozarteum in Salzburg and Kennedy Center in Washington. Following the success of her recent recording “Rebecca Clarke, Works for viola”, Vinciane initiated research on the manuscripts of Clarke. She teaches at HEMU Lausanne in Switzerland and gives classes at the CNSM Paris. Vinciane studied at the CNSM in Paris, then with Kim Kashkashian, and at the Curtis Institute. She’s a prize winner at the Washington, Valentino Bucchi, Michael Bunchman Pianist Michael Bunchman maintains a fulfilling schedule as a collaborative pianist with both singers and instrumentalists throughout the United States. He is currently on faculty at the University of Southern Mississippi as the director of the Collaborative Piano Program, where he is honored to coach, teach and guide the next generation of collaborative pianists in both vocal and instrumental repertoire. Dr. Bunchman maintains an active performance schedule outside of his work in academia. He spent his summer as the Director of Music and Collaborative Piano at the International Performing Arts institute in Bavaria, Germany.
